    Sword and the Scorcerer Sequel!

Well this is fun news. Tales of the Ancient Empire is being made with Albert Pyun directing.

I've got to admit this sounds like a lot of fun to me. I'm excited.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwesome. I loved that movie... when I was eleven.

Is the original even on DVD? I suddenly have a great desire to rewatch it.

I too loved it when I was eleven, although I didn't think I'd have to wait 20-odd years for the sequel announced at the end of the movie. I was released on DVD over here and I picked up a copy in HMV and found that I had paid 30 Euro (47USD!) for a 4:3 video transfer. I later stole a widescreen version off the interweb, but I'd still prefer what I thought I was buying: a film transfer of the original widescreen print.

It was still pretty enjoyable for a crap movie, so buy a copy and relive your childhood!

Was that the movie where the hero had a 3-bladed sword that could shoot two of the blades?

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade (naaa sure I do) but... That news was from August 2007 and he wrote "I'm making a sequel to THE SWORD AND THE SORCERER in Tunisia in October. It's titled, what else, TALES OF THE ANCIENT EMPIRE."

Its now April 08 and the movie isn't in product that I've heard of.

Even as a fantasy obsessed 10 year old I couldn't stomach the sword that shot its blades.

Still, you have to appreciate 80s fantasy movies for always working a topless scene in. Even in the trailer apparently.

I saw this as a kid to, and it was awesome! I still fondly remember the breasts, the stupidly crazy sword, and the "I'm not dead yet!" ending. I hope it does get a sequel, only this time in polarized 3D!

Oh, and If you can't stomach a shooting 3 bladed sword, well, perhaps you're in the wrong genre. ;-)

Have you seen my magical throwing glaive which, while powerful, is no match for the power of love?

The film is definitely in the making. Whether that's a good thing or not, I don't know yet.

Wow. Everything old is new again. When does the "Krull" sequel come out?

I love the 'shing' sound when he pulls the sword out of the scabbard. It's like how crossbows in Buffy always made the sound of a pump action shotgun whenever anyone touched them, pretty much.

I would pay Disney cash money to not make a sequel to The Black Hole.

Come on, you know you shed a tear when the crippled R2-D2 ripoff sacrificed himself to save the newer R2-D2 ripoff.
