A looney with a hot wife.
So I just left the floor of the House and Kucinich was proposing (and entered into the record) a bill to impeach Cheney. He said it was backed by "22 of his colleagues".
I thought it interesting and then found this is what, his third or fourth time doing it? Was neat to see but come on, seems like a big waste of the House's time. His "evidence" was reading quotes from CNN and such. Looney!

Do you have to wear a monkey suit on the floor of the House?
Cheney deserves to be impeached, but as with everything else it's just a political play. The Dems don't have the votes to push it through and the Repubs will never throw one of their own under a bus, even one who would do it to them in a heartbeat.
It would be amusing since Cheney would preside over his own impeachment trial, if I recall correctly, which I may not.
The Chief Justice would preside in an impeachment; the VP merely acts as a tiebreaker in regular votes in the Senate, if necessary. He has no vote in an impeachment proceeding.Originally Posted by Linoleum
Going after Cheney now would be pointless without some sort of "smoking gun". The process would take so long that his term would be over by the time anything happened.
The motion to refer the impeachment to the Judiciary Committee passed.
Is the House's time worth anything, though?Originally Posted by ElGuapo
It's sad that this is little more than an already-beaten Presidential contender's attempt to grab some attention. I would really, really like to see both Bush and Cheney impeached, just so history would show that something was done to them for all their crap.
Looks like this one's actually going to be voted on.

54% want Cheney impeached.
Would 54% even know an impeachable offense if it shot them in the face?
Right then, we should impeach Squirrel Killer.
But someday I hope to be a LAAAAAAAAW!Originally Posted by Squirrel Killer

No, because even shooting someone in the face isn't an impeachable offense!Originally Posted by Squirrel Killer

Beyond that? As famously said by some Congressman in the 70's during Watergate (and I'm paraphrasing) - "high crimes and misdemeanors is whatever half of the House says it is."
