    Exactly.

The truth is, that I honestly looked for the other thread, didn't see it, figured that it had been gone long enough that a new thread would be informative.

    Guess I missed it.

But please, feel free to mock me. It's why I come here.

The URL for Aythryn's pic adds to the humor by revealing the source: http://www.bungie.net/images/News/We...iecomplete.jpg

So.... why? Microsoft doesn't think there's life after Halo?

Game|Life noted that Microsoft doesn't really need exclusive content developers to sell 360's anymore. They already have a ton of developers and publishers lined up behind their console, they can afford to let Bungie do their own thing without it affecting 360 sales.

Just the kind of decision that could bite them in the ass either late in this generational cycle or right away on the next one.

I (for some inexplicable reason) don't think Sony will continue this circus of blunders forever.

Do Bungie get to keep their fancy building that Microsoft gave them?

Did you totally forget what happened when the PS2 launched? Normally I'd be right there with you on the whole "Nobody can be stupid forever", but Sony really has that locked.

I have to admit that once Crazy Ken was gone, I thought things would get better. I can't really say that's true.

I think this is essentially what happened here. They bought back their controlling stakes and told the managers to fuck off. If they want to do a different title between Halo's then they're gonna do it now without anyone from MS telling them otherwise.

I doubt they had much of a choice. If MS has said no you stay inside they probably would have had a exodus of all the high level personnel. So let them out froom under the MS roof, they keep the Halo IP and new games from Bungie still are published by MS. About as good as a deal as MS could get.
