360/XBL Voice Disable?
As a preface, allow me to apologize if this is the wrong place for such a question. I don't think it belongs in games, so this sounds about right.
I am interested in disabling voice communication on Xbox Live, used on a 360. I found a support document on Microsoft's website that describes this procedure on the old Xbox, it does not apply to the 360 GUI.
When I go to the "System" blade and "Family Settings" it tells me I do not have any "Child" accounts so I can't apply any of these settings! Even if I could apply the "Friends Only" option I would be happy, as having to manually mute every player in a Gears or Worms match is fucking tedious at best.
I go so far as to avoid multiplayer in general because it is frankly embarassing to have a nasal, prepubescent voice pounding through the television, even if it's only audible during the 5 second MP3 downtime on a track change. Please hope me!

Press the guide button. It's in Privacy settings->Voice and text.

I knew in the end I would feel foolish, but like many other things on their GUI it makes no direct sense to me. Thank you for your help, EvilIdler!

It can also be set from xbox.com.

That dashboard interface isn't the tidiest I've seen. Guess that's why it's also an option on the website :P
