    I have to agree.

I am looking forward to being able to get into Section 8: Prejudice when I return home.

However, seeing my 1005 hours registered on TF2, I did get value for money with that game.

One further trouble with public servers, and the lack of team work is when a group of clan players effectively crash the party. Suddenly the fun just gets sucked right out of the game. To them, I can only guess it is like shooting fish in a barrel. But if the other team can not even get close to the objective, have no fighting chance in moving forward, then why play. I'd hang around in the vain hope that maybe the clan groups were passing through and would go into some sort of scheduled game, but they never did.

I too have been using MNC as my new TF2 fix (team based FPS online play) and I am loving it...except we need more maps and more features and more love.

Yeah, I'm not saying TF2 was a rip-off, I got a bunch of hours in on it myself. I just don't like how the game was changed from something awesome into something less awesome.

Patches/updates are supposed to improve a game, not downgrade it.

Absolutely true. Last weekend, the blues ended up jammed into the entrance hallway to point B on the Steel map, couldn't do anything thanks to heavy/medic combos, supporting demomen, and even a level 3 sentry up as soon as A got capped. They even had pyros patrolling A to make sure nobody flanked them.

A bunch of server-hoppers does not stand a chance against a coordinated group. That's when it's time to server-hop once more....

Did Valve really just add scrolling combat text over people's heads, or did I dream it?

How long has that option been available? Is it really new or have I just overlooked it for a while?

Having a bell go off every time you do damage to someone is kinda funny.

Been there for quite a while, in the years range I'm pretty sure. Always had that option on since it gives a good idea of when you're firing someone at useless-damage range.

I had no idea! I logged in last night and there was a message saying "hey look! There's an Advanced Options button here! You should check it out!"

It's been in there a year or two at least, that's when I discovered it. I love it, it's really stepped up my game by helping me understand when I'm actually being effective at all, and how effective. GREAT way to learn for weapons like missiles and pipe bombs especially.

TF2 never gets old for me. I've wondered about trying something new that could fill that niche, but no game out there has all the things I like about TF2, so I'd end up going back to TF2. The gameplay plus the crazy and hilarious aesthetics of the game make it unique to me. The only combat multiplayer game that I'd get even more fanatic about would be the second coming of Planetside, although that game for different reasons.

I'm just pleased as can be that Valve still supports TF2, and people are still playing it.

Just got the samurai sword and that crazy shield for my demoman. I haven't had this much fun in a long time!! And it's actually a semi-viable setup for casual pubbing, which is all I do anyway.

Arise! It's time for The Uber Update!

Mafia-themed packs, new Valve-made maps, plus...

1.) It IS a "Meet the" short.
2.) It involves ONE of the two remaining classes.
    3.) It's NOT the Pyro.
    4.) It's the MEDIC.

Hmmm...don't know if I can play TF2 after becoming such a MNC junkie, but I shall have to try this new update. Too bad it will most likely come with a whole host of new crafting bullshit.

The last patch ruined MNC for me- made the game a little too defensive.

The juice nerf made it too hard to kill lvl 3 Rock-its.

Yeah? I liked that change. Now it takes a team, not one guy to wreck the whole base. And Juice a serious advantage, but not god mode. Both good changes I thought. *shrugs*

I've been playing a bit more TF2 lately and I don't do any crafting/trading/buying*/ swag stuff and I haven't noticed anything really.

*I did get "The Iron Curtain" Heavy Gun from Poker Night at the Inventory and that has made me a fair Heavy player, but that about it.

For any qt3'er who wants to get back into tf2, if you're looking for weapons, you can have anything from the first page of my backpack (don't have a lot, crafted a bunch away recently.) Just add me on steam. I'm usually only on pretty late though.

I'd love to get that Amputator, Soondifferent. I spend half my playtime as medic, but don't have any of the most recent weapons for him.

I also have a small assortment of random weapons up for grabs (on page 1 of my backpack), if you can track me down in-game.

Sorry roBurky, seems like I missed you by an hour. I'm usually online around 10pm EST if anyone wants any of my spares. I'll save that Amputator for you if don't get it from someone else first.

Also, if there's any weapon missing from our bungeoning Qt3 supply, you can check the Reddit Armory. Not sure how active it is anymore though.

Thanks Squee. I've accepted your friend request.

I notice you both have a spare Brass Beast, russellmz and Alan Au. Would I be able to get one off either of you?

Anything on the first two pages of my own backpack is also available to anyone who wants it, trade or gift.

I've been completely out of TF2 for a long while. What does a "class token" do?

I recall they were part of the recipe to make a class specific weapon or hat.

Hilariously enough, I read that crafting wiki article when I first got the link from clicking on the Token in roBurky's backpack and I still don't know what the point of the Token is in the game. It's just an ingredient for crafting something? So, it's padding for the system?

In order to make a weapon for a specific class, you need the class token. So, you need a soldier token to make a new shovel, or a pyro token to make a flamethrower, etc. I assume it's because there isn't actually that much variety of ingredients, so they needed a way to differentiate between, say the 4 different classes with shotguns.

The padding is the fact that it takes 3(? I don't remember) items to smelt down into a class token.
