neat thread!
In July I was looking at a list of PC games for the 2nd half of 2007 and I thought there was some diablo-like game coming out soon. It was not hell-gate london, but something within the next 2 or 3 months. I can not remember it's name and looking at the EB release list for the remainder of the year, nothing on it rings a bell.
Is such a game coming out, and if so, what is it called?
neat thread!
Yes, it's called Felix Unger Versus the Untidy. I think it's set in a deserted Mars base. Should be out in OctoberOriginally Posted by DeepT
Mythos?
Yeah, it's that game with that guy with the special skills that he can use during combat. Anyway, the release date was pushed back, but I think there's a limited-beta for Fileplanet subscribers.

There's a couple of em, actually. Mythos, Dungeon Runners, Chosen: Well of Souls, and Loki.
Dungeon Runners is already out but blows, Mythos is in early beta, Loki releases 9/28, and Chosen releases 10/1.
Also Sacred2, Divine Divinity 2, and possibly The Witcher are coming out in the next year or so. Good times coming if you like action RPGs. Not so much if you like hardcore RPGs, though.
Since you didn't specifically mention it, it's worth noting that Mythos is being developed at Flagship on the Hellgate backend by the guy who designed Fate (who I believe still posts here sometimes).
edit: And it's free. So is Dungeon Runners, I believe.

Actually, Loki has been available through digital download for a little while, now.Originally Posted by stusser
So it has. Based upon the european reviews, I'm not really following it very closely.
Is there actually a release date available for Divine Divinity 2?
Nope, just 2008.
Diablo L, a JRPG, should be out in the next couple of months. It's been developed by a Japanese company with team advisors from Blizzard.Originally Posted by DeepT

Ahh thanks, I was curious because I hadn't seen much info on it since a very short PC gamer preview a long time ago.Originally Posted by stusser
Also keep an eye out for Halo L and Maddden 2009 L!
What an enormous set of ears she has.Originally Posted by Raife
It's also free to play, so folks might as well give it a shot and decide for themselves if it sucks. I found it mildly amusing but fairly bland in a you-get-what-you-pay-for sense; haven't tried it since the first major content update, though. EDIT: I suspect like all action-RPGs, it gets better in MP, but I didn't have the patience to find a good group and mostly soloed it.Originally Posted by stusser
Hey, now, we're getting NWN 2:MotB, plus...ummm...Dragon Age eventually and...ummm...the next Fallout?Originally Posted by stusser
Somebody help me out here. Where's that link to Gamespot's mega-lineup of PC releases?
I am both fascinated and disturbed by that artist's concept of female elven anatomy and fashion sense.Originally Posted by Raife
So it pretty much has to be Korean.

Loki is apparently so terrible (just judging by reviews and player feedback at a couple forums) it makes the clumsy Silverfall (which I kind of like but admit is not exactly, uh, polished) seem like, I dunno, a Sid Meier game by comparison. :D I don't know why French devs keep making sloppy Diablo clones that they have to patch like crazy post-release.
I was a Sacred fanatic for a while, so I'm eager to see how Sacred 2 turns out though I have to hope Ascaron improves its multiplayer server reliability (my experience on Sacred was pretty erratic but maybe understandable given I'm in Virginia and they're hosted in Germany :D).
I got a nasty case of wrist tendinitis while playing Titan Quest: Immortal Throne earlier this year (I had to see a doctor, take aspirin, use wrist splints etc.). I'm OK now and have even been able to play the less click-festy Silverfall without problems, but I don't think I can take any more heavy duty Diablo clone games anymore. :p
