    Disgaea available for $29.99

No, really; at what appears to be an official shop and everything. They also have a lot of Disgaea crap that I would totally blow all my extra money on if I had any extra money left at the moment.

Interesting. So RosenQueen is like the merchant branch of NIS America (Nippon Ichi). The name and website certainly due not make that very clear. Although, NIS America's webstite does have a link to RosenQueen on the front page of their website.

What does Rosen Queen mean? Seems an odd choice.

The Rosen Queen company runs the stores in Disgaea. As for deeper meanings, I have no clue.

Double Jump also has a re-print of the guide up on their website. It's a low print run for $40. I just ordered both. (yay consumer whore!)

Ahhh. Therein lies the reason I was interested. I missed the boat on Disagea and then it dissapeared from the face of the planet.

It's a good game, but I think it's pretty overrated.

Don't crucify me here, but I honestly think this is one of the few cases where the developer included too much shit. The result is a game I can only describe as "fairly inaccessible."

I would agree with this to a point. I would also add that the UI is pretty horrible; in particular, it can be harder than hell to figure out where squares are, colors, etc. on random maps. The panning and zooming controls are horrific.

Have fun with Disgaea. I've been ordering from Rosenqueen for a couple months. Most stuff you're better off ordering from other sites if it's available there. They took their sweet time shipping Persona 3, for example, and only shipped it last Friday after multiple calls and emails prodding them. This was despite my having preordered the game months ago.

I bought the DS Lite Kimono Covers from there, and shipping wasn't trackable, either. Since they're a "small store", I wouldn't expect 0-day shipping from them.

Oh, the covers are so incredibly nice. The side touching the DS Lite is made of suede!

Rosenqueen is a separate company from NIS America. They did this so that they can carry Atlus's and other non-NISA stuff. (Like that oh-so-sweet "The World of Disgaea" book from Brocolli USA that is a translation of the Japanese guidebook!)

I can understand criticisms of Disgaea for being inaccessible. I'd counter that the critical path hand-holds you pretty well throughout and doesn't offer a ton of challenge outside of a few rough battles, but the deeper (and totally awesome) levels of the game really expect you to be self-motivated.

Still. Such a great game. I do so wish that NIS would figure out a way to replicate this success...I've just never been hooked by any of their products since.

If I hadn't bought it practically the moment it came out (exploding penguins!), this would be very exciting.

I feel the same way, I spent more time playing Disgaea 1 then Makai, Phantom and even D2 put together. Something about D2's gameplay made me stop playing instead of going after the post content, and I didn't like the new itemworld for some reason.

I'd expect shipping at least within a week, though, which they didn't accomplish.

Rosenqueen is a separate company from NIS America.
If by "separate" you mean "when you call RQ, NISA reps answer." Also, I had made an order before Comic Con and they didn't ship it until after the con because "all" of the reps were at Comic Con. Manning the NIS booth.

LOL they made such a big deal about the "separated" arrangement in public. I guess the only real reason to bother with this, is to make sure people don't mistakenly think that NIS publishes Disgaea and Persona 3.
