Then I come to my senses.
This just reinforces my belief that MGS4 will come to the 360 via the power of collective wishing.
I simply can't see the following exchange taking place:
Konami Exec 1: "Boy, everyone on the interwebs really wants MGS4 on the 360. Maybe we should port it over."

I'd imagine a few dumptrucks full of money are being sent out to make sure it remains at the very least a timed exclusive for 6+ months.
I also imagine that it won't sell very well anyway. MGS3 didn't sell nearly as well as MGS2. Old Snake might be even less appealing than dress-up Big Boss Snake.
It's too bad, because I geniunely liked MGS3. I personally would LOVE a 360 port.

I wonder if there's a 'next-gen' factor at work here though, where the first release on a new console will sell like hotcakes simply because it's so much more improved over the previous generation's (visually, anyways), but the next release on that same console just doesn't have that same 'wow' factor.
It'll sell "decently." And by that I mean it will sell a resonable amount, but not enough to be the big hit Konami is hoping it will be. There simply isn't the install base there, and at this point all serious gamers know if they like the series or not. MGS has a really bad rep amongst some people for being a nearly unplayable series. As much as I like the games, they do have some BAD control problems (See the close combat system in MGS3). Hopefully MGS4 addresses these, but I think that the series isn't as popular as we who frequent message boards would like to think.

How were sales of MGS3? I was under the impression that MGS2 was a multi-million selling game.
Rough numbers here: MGS2 sold about 7 million world wide. MGS3 sold about 2 million world wide, after re-release.
I'm sure more exact figures are out there.
If you're inclined to believe Wikipedia, MGS2 sold 7 million, MGS3 sold 3.7 million, which is actually a lot better than I thought it did

Those are amazing sales considering the game was released during the Halo 2/San Andreas/Half-Life 2 bloodbath.

I meant, is there a list somewhere to show all the previous PS3 exclusives that are no longer exclusives, so I can laugh and point at the PS3 which I secretly want but think is too expensive?
