I knew I had seen that somewhere before
Apparently there’s a one-page article about Accordion Hero in the July PC Gamer. But it’s not about my Accordion Hero, the one that was advertised in Computer Games Magazine back in April 2006 (Accordion Hero II was in the April 2007 issue), and covered in a Gamasutra postmortem, and discussed on a whole bunch of gaming sites including this one...
Nope.
Okay PC Gamer – what’s up? Not only has no one there ever heard of Accordion Hero, but you never bothered to Google it?
Not funny.
I knew I had seen that somewhere before
Bleh, Gravy Trader is way better.
I don't know understand why everyone played along for this Aprils Fools joke.
Don't be so hard on them. This is just their passive-aggressive way of saying, "Hurry up and finish It Came from Hollywood already! I want to crush hippies as a giant tin robot just once before I die."

You know, if you add a "/" in between know and understand, the sentence is perfectly fine.Originally Posted by Ed Solomon

"Aprils Fools" is still questionable.
Bah. ;)
How do I preorder?
I got to ask....
What is up with the Coconut Monkey shit?
I have been a PC gamer reader for about 8 years now or so, and still don't understand what the deal is with this thing.
It just seems so lame.
That's because it probably is.Originally Posted by Supersport

I will never, ever not laugh when I see that Sparky graphic.
Wait...are you upset, Sparky, that they ripped your joke? BTW, did you come up with the joke or just the graphics? Either way, nice work.
Alas, piracy is killing Schadenfreude Interactive.
They shouldn't have driven off those Starforce guys so violently.Originally Posted by Lum

(Note: I mean Schadenfreude Interactive ripoffs / homages / clones, not actual copies of our own beloved Flowers, which would likely end the universe as we know it.)
Oh they are very close to dead. Interplay just sold them to Atari...or the reverse...I can't remember and it doesn't matter.Originally Posted by RepoMan

I am upset (boy, do I suck at stirring up drama, or what?). I don't know whether it was intentional or they're just that clueless, but they're presenting as their own idea a parody that has not only been all over the intarwebs since March 2006, but was repeatedly published in a competing magazine, most recently this April.Originally Posted by Robert Sharp
They didn't even bother to execute it well. Come up with a picture of a controller, people. Make a nice logo. Some screenshots. Oh wait, I already did that.
Now I'm going to get tons of email saying "Ha! We've figgured it out Accordion Hero are PC GAMAR!" Thanks, guys. At least I can reply by insulting their mothers and signing it "Sincerely, Greg Vederman".
Here are some other fresh new ideas for future issues:
- Pimps At Sea
- Bonsai Kitten
- Snakes on a plane
- All your base are belong to us
- Rabbit with a pancake on its head
Ooh -- you could come up with a fake band called "Spinal Tap"!
Clearly you need to issue a "press release" announcing that SFI is planning to sue the developers of the Accordion Hero rip-off. Stick it to the man!
