EDIT: damn you, RickH, and your speedy fingers!
On go gamer this 48 hour sale, hitman blood money for the pc for $8. Is it considered to be the best of the hitman games?
Dunno how good it is, but it's also on Gametap now.Originally Posted by pfreak
It's thoroughly enjoyable, IMO. For $8, it's a steal.Originally Posted by Dave Long
Is CC a store that puts games out the day they're released, or will I have to wait a few days for them to get it in stock? Will I be able to walk in Tuesday morning and purchase the game or would I be better off just preordering at EB/GS?
Not sure that it wouldn't be better to just pick up the Hitman Trilogy bundle, personally. Silent Assassin, Contracts, and Blood Money are all reputed to be excellent (I can personally verify only the first.)Originally Posted by Kool Moe Dee
Not the Steam one, though. That leaves out Contracts in place of Hitman 1, which is generally reputed to be trash.
GoGamer had some good 48 hour madnesses recently like GRAW2 for $20 and SupCom for $30 on GoGamer anytime soon...don't know what possessed them to sell such good games for so low, but it definitely made me go buy copies.
Recently they have all been old games or games nobody wants to buy like Halo 2 (and Circuit City was there way earlier with the $20 Halo 2), so I wonder how often they actually have big discounts for the fairly recent (>1 year) games?
I got Oblivion from them around $30 in the less than two months post-release period (I don't remember exactly. I think it was only a couple of weeks, but I'd hesitate to commit to that.)
So fairly often, but the big, big discounts are usually on old, obscure, or shitty titles.
It certainly varies, but I've found that my local CC isn't so good at getting the games on the shelves on the day it's supposed to be there. My local Best Buy, on the other hand, used to be really bad (like, it'd show up a week later bad) but over the last year has become extremely good at getting new releases on the shelves ASAP.Originally Posted by delirium
I'll recommend it as well. I payed $60 for it and don't regret the experience. For $8 that's a must buy if you are interested in assassination games . . . uh, well, the Hitman games.Originally Posted by pfreak
Gametap is probably the best $10 you can spend on games per month. There's just so much there to do for everyone but the most complete gamer that's played it all before. Arguably, I'm in that category because I've at least dabbled with nearly everything on there short of the budget stuff and the educational games, but I still play something on there every couple of days. Right now it's Overlord.
Gametap has singlehandedly curtailed my "Oh, this dropped to $20? I'll try it." impulse buying of games. Why spend $20 on a game I'm not sure about just for something new to play when I can just wait til next week and see what new thing Gametap has.Originally Posted by Dave Long
I'm not sure how they managed to ramp up what they're offering so quickly, but it's great. I'm also doing Overlord now, and I have to say that knowing it was coming on Gametap has surely saved me $40 or so from buying the PC version, since I was interested enough in it to impulse purchase it. Now I don't have to, though. (To top it off, I got in on the $60/yr thing last october.. I can hope they'll renew me at that rate, but frankly at the normal rate it's still a bargain.)
If anyone is still looking for a Wii, they appear to be available on sears.com. I ordered one earlier today, on behalf of a certain S. Claus. Now we'll just have to hide it for 3+ months.
Age of Empires 3 and the War Chiefs Expansion, $10 each at Half Price Books.
Also, I'm sure everyone has BioShock already, but if you don't, it's $35 on Gogamer for a little while.
They've also got the Fallout collection for those of you who want to join in on all the Fallout 3 kvetching.
Sort of tempted to get the Fallout collection, even though I have 1 and 2. Having it all on DVD sounds tempting.
"Little while" is right. It's now listed as $56 unless I'm looking in the wrong spot. Dang.Originally Posted by malkav11

GoGamer's bargain prices are nearly always for PC. Don't shop there expecting anything particularly exciting from their console sections.
I don't have Bioshock yet, but I want the 360 version. Sucks to be me, I guess.
Too tempting for me to resist. I did the same with the Icewind Dale series. Want to keep the games around, have replayed them here and there, but I also want to cut down on the space.Originally Posted by deepruntramp

Bioshock is sweet, but why should I have to buy gay anime porn in order to get a free game?Originally Posted by Moore
I dunno, I didnt, but it was the only recent title I also saw during my brief check of the sale. Otherwise I'd have said Eternal Sonata, which is apparently a gay anime porn musical
Actually, I can stomach gay anime porn if it has good music.
What's TRU? Here is what Google tells me - "Teenage Research Unlimited[/B] provides clients with unparalleled insights into teen life." : )Originally Posted by Moore
