Slipgate Ironworks
Okay, so Bitchslapper John's asking for more experience than HRose has. Still, it's worth a shot, bud. You could be part of Daikatana Onlin--er, Super Secret Mystery Project.

To paraphrase that hiring notice:
WANTED: ONE GAME DEVELOPMENT TEAM

Ops, I confused Slipg8 with Spacetime Studios. Very sorry.Originally Posted by HRose

ooh! ooh! I look hot in my tighty whities! Where do I sign up?
With a name like Slipgate, it makes me think of the original Quake's aborted Cthulhu mythos backdrop. A Lovecraftian MMO would be pretty crazy...
That page bothers me. It bothers me in the way that a lot of company's pages for hiring people bother me.
They are making completely unrealistic requirements for people there. I remember when I was job shopping a few years ago, and it was not uncommon for people to have mandatory 5+ years of .NET experience, when .NET was only like 2 years old.
It tells me that the people who want to hire you really have no clue at all. It also bothers me because it reminds me of all the really tiny developer who had insane requirements for everyone they wanted to hire, yet they themselves had no track record to prove that they were anyone but some guy who had a bunch of money to spend with no clue about making games.
A company should at least provide enough information about themselves why you should take them seriously.
Such as? If I wanted a senior level C++ programmer, I don't think calling for four years of day-in day-out C++ programming is a stretch.Originally Posted by DeepT
Ya, the programmer positions requirements are pretty light actually.Originally Posted by Roger Wong
I love it when you get the uber requirements job posting with the incredibly crap salary. :)
I like how they say "john romero's company". Like his name has meaning. Also "enter the reality distortion field!" is a feat of ironic genius.
Job security at this company must be great. XD
*waves hand in the air*
This is the salary you are looking for. You are privileged to work for a great man. You are happy and content.
Looks like a persistent online shooter for the PC and/or 360.
The more job listings you post, the more people can figure out about your project.
Romero is actually pretty good about hiring inexperienced types...actually really good. Maybe too good.
Those qualifications really don't look high, not for the senior positions they are aiming for. In fact I'd be worried that they are too low for "senior" people.
So it really is going to be Daikatana Online!?! Wooooooooooooooooooooo! :D
