Jonny Quest and its modernization The Venture Brothers.
Ones I gots so far:
Doctor Who - gotta be the all-time best. Plus was hugely innovative and influential.
Knight Rider - the show is unwatchable now, but the theme is still totally rad and is probably my second fave.
X Men the Animated Series - I remember this being great, but I only recall a liitle bit of it.
Mission Impossible - It's a rule that I have to put this here.
The Cosby Show - that had some great ones.
Now you go.
Jonny Quest and its modernization The Venture Brothers.
This is the theme to Gary's show.
The theme to Gary's show.
Gary called me up and asked
If I would write his theme song?
I'm almost half-way finished,
How do you like it so far?
How do you like the theme to Gary's show?
This is the theme to Gary's show.
The opening theme to Gary's show.
This is the music that you hear
As you watch the credits.
We're almost at the part
Where I will start to whistle
Then we'll watch "It's Gary Shandling's Show"
(whistle whistle whistle whistle)
(whistle whistle whistle whistle)
Now it's time for Gary Shandling's Show.
EDIT: for multiple missphelllllingts :)

The Facts of life.
Basically, anything that has been used in a real song = good.
Knight Rider: Busta Rhymes - Fire it Up (Remix)
Doctor Who: The KLF/Timelords - Doctorin' the Tardis
Night Court: Cam'ron, Silkk the Shocker, Big Pun & Charlie Baltimore & Wycelf Jean - Horse and Carriage (Remix)
Batman (60's)
Peter Gunn
Twilight Zone
The Jeffersons
Cheers
All in the Family
Hawaii 5-0. (I distinctly recall a moment in my life as a young child, probably around age 5, when I was utterly fascinated with this tune and thought it was the coolest piece of music in the universe.)
Although I think Star Trek (TOS) has the best overall score of any TV show I've heard, I don't know that I would put the title/theme song way up there. Except for the nostalgia associations it sets up.
If I had to pick the greatest of all in my own opinion, I'd probably go with either Peter Gunn or Jeffersons, with Twilight Zone and Mission Impossible coming in close behind.
And of course Monty Python's Flying Circus, though that wasn't an original theme. But that show now "owns" that music in the same way that the Lone Ranger now "owns" the William Tell Overture.
Secret Agent Man. Greatest theme song ever.
And now that I think of it, I have to mention Danny Elfman's theme song for the Simpsons.

Oh crap, I forgot Twin Peaks. That's a v. good theme. I kinda like the BBC World music too.
In terms of older stuff I always had a fondness for the funky Baretta theme "Eye of the Sparrow":
Don't go to bed, with no price on your head
No, no, don't do it.
Don't do the crime, if you can't do the time,
Yeah, don't do it.
And keep your eye on the sparrow.
When the going gets narrow.
Don't do it, don't do it.
Where can I go where the cold winds don't blow,
Now.
Well, well, well.
Quoted for truth. There's a reason they picked this shit for Spy Hunter.Originally Posted by Gordon Cameron

Dang, I forgot The Littlest Hobo Theme!
That might only mean something to Canadians of a certain age, but it deserves to be up there.
