    DVD Backup software for Mac?

In light of my recent happy no-so-happy experience with a busted deadwood DVD, I'm looking at DVD backup software.

I'm not looking at the "rip DVDs to video files to put on teh interweb" software, but I downloaded Handbrake and it appears to do that, if I wanted.

The most recent commercial program that will take standard DVDs, and strip out or compress video to fit on a standard DVD looks like Popcorn 2 (and it'll do PSP or iPod compression also). It looks like one must combine it with MacTheRipper to get around copy protection at times.

Anyone used it? Why would I get it over Toast 7 -- it's $20 cheaper via download. Is it just easier?

I'm looking for easy -- sticking together 3 pieces of free software with fiddly-option interfaces doesn't really interest me. I do that enough at work.

And then I want to drill holes it in, launch it from a gun with slots cut in the barrel, and disable Bill Dungsroman's jet.

    Thanks for all the help.

Mac The Ripper + Popcorn 2 = Teh Win.
