    Vista and Warcraft

I got my Vista beta disc in the mail the other day and am curious to try it out, but I don't want to install it if it's going to mess with my World of Warcraft.

Any knowledge out there on whether Vista works well with current-gen games and in particularly WoW? Also, is it possible to revert back to XP from Vista if I decide I hate it?

    You can't revert.

WoW works fine with Vista (assuming your video drivers work). Only MMO I had that outright wouldn't run was DAOC.

Vista's intersting and all, but it's not quite ready to be used as your primary OS yet. I wouldn't recommend replacing your XP install with it. If you have a second hard drive you can reformat your something like PartitionMagic that can dynamically resize your partitions to make room for Vista, do that. Otherwise I would say to just look at screenshots.

As for game performance, I have installed 10 or so current gen games and haven't had any of them perform exactly right. I had slower performance in pretty much all of them, corrupted/missing textures in some them, random crashing, weird stuttering that shouldn't have been there, etc. All of them I've tried have been at least playable, but none that I wouldn't rather run in XP. I haven't tried WoW, but I have no reason to think that it would be flawless.

Vista is interesting to take a look at, but it's still very much in Beta.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll take a pass on it for now.
