Ripping widescreen DVDs to PSP w/o letterboxing?

I got a PSP last night. I ripped a couple of DVDs using DVD Decrypter and PSP Video 9. The problem I'm having is it's not filling the widescreen PSP screen and is instead letterboxing it.

Is there anyway to have the DVD fill the screen, or is just the way it goes for transferring DVDs?

I haven't actually ripped a DVD to the PSP but I would assume that there would still be letterboxing because most widescreen movies are wider then a 16:9 ratio. It's the same when watching a DVD on a widescreen TV. You're still stuck with the black bars (albeit noticably smaller then a 4:3 TV).

Yeah it depends on the source. If it is truly 16:9 then it should fit. If it's wider then it will still have the black bars. Fiddle around with the zoom, full and normal settings and see if you can't find one that works.

I think I figured it out. I can crop in PSP Video 9. That should do it.
