How to fix laundry color bleed
I washed a new pair of blue shorts and a new red shirt together this morning and the blue from the shorts bled into the shirt, leaving it with a blue-red zebra stripe pattern. I noticed the color bleed right away and put the shirt in a bucket of water to soak, hopefully preventing the colors from setting into the material.
Is there a way to fix the color bleed? Can you, for example, soak the shirt in a borax solution, soak it in saline, something else?

I've never found or heard of a method to get color bleed out, unless you let it sit in bleach for about a year. but then the shirt won't be back to its original color either. Shorry! :(

Its generally best to wash the shirt again sans shorts in hot water. In the laundry/yarn section of your local dept store they should carry Rit color out. It comes in a little flat box and I have found it to work wonders. If the blue isn't nearly gone from an extra wash cycle use the Rit and make sure to test it on the interior lower tail end of your shirt.

Thanks for the replies. I have tried washing the shirt again another couple of times but no luck. I will give the Rit color out a try.
