    Qt3 @ GDC?

    Greetings:
    So, who's going? And is there interest in doing a get-together? Or is everyone booked with parties all night every night?

    I'll be flying in Tuesday afternoon, out Friday evening, and if folks are around, I'd love to do a lunch or dinner or drinks just to say hi to people in person and swap stories.

    Unfortunately, we won't have Supertanker to do his superlative job of organizing that he does at E3, but maybe there's someone in SF who wouldn't mind taking point?

    OK, how about March 10 at 5 PM? Dave's is on 3rd, near Market Street. Walk up 3rd from SFMOMA. It's two blocks from MOMA on your right. Can't miss it.

    I had my flight to SF booked and everything, but then Freescale corporate canceled all existing travel for this quarter out of the blue. A few people are still going, but I'm not among them. I'll be here in Austin, toasting you all from afar. Be nice to the guys and gals in the Metrowerks booth.

    How about Tuesday at 5 pm, then, ALSO, Thursday at 5 PM. We can all sit for 1 drink and relax before the parties begin.

    Does this work for everyone?

    EDIT: Let's make Thursday the "official QT3" day, and Tuesday the "Just arrived, need a drink" day.

    If no one else is gonna chime in here, I'm assuming these days work for everyone and appearing at Dave's at 5 PM just about every night after the show floor closes. Could be a good place in general to meet up Us Nor Cal'ers can show ya'll out of towners how to get to the parties without getting lost in some transexual neighborhood.

    I'll be there Tuesday, probably Thursday as well. Might bring the girlfriend along Tuesday, if that's okay (she's never read QT3, but it's all very casual and I figured it would be fine).

    Also note that Tuesday at 5PM at the Metreon (across the street from Moscone Center) is the Walk of Game ceremony, featuring Nolan Bushnell, maybe Miyamoto, and hosted by Sessler.

    I was down there for the Embedded Systems Conference -- in a different part of the Moscone center, just down the street. Different groups -- most all the GDC guys were young and pretending to be cool, ESC guys were about 10 years older, and well, we all admitted we weren't cool.

    I walked into the Metreon on Tuesday night and...

    I'm sorry guys, having people dress up as Sonic and Mario and give them stars on the "Walk of Game" just makes everyone involved look silly.

    Sure, I'll swing by :-) I'm not going to GDC at all but what the hell. Won't have a name badge either. Sigh. Maybe I'll print out a big color picture of the bloodshot eyeball and wave it around....

    We have a sake tasting at work at 5, but I work 2 blocks from the Metreon so it should be no problem! Also, am I correct in thinking that "Dave's" is here?

    Special for Qt3'ers today only.

    If you stop by the Metreon's Yerba Buena room and ask for Adam (that's me), I'll get you in to see the new FEAR single-player level. If you're nice you may get some hands on time as well.

    We're also showing Incredible Hulk, Scarface, Empire Earth II (full game), SWAT 4 (full game-come get some co-op love), Cold Winter, FlatOut, and Bard's Tale PC.
