Doomhammer.
Somebody propose a server for a horde guild. I figure we can make it one of the newer, less populated servers. All I ask is not Daggerspire, I already have an Alliance character on that one.

Doomhammer.
Come join Proudmoore. It's popular but never seems bloated to me :)
Does it already have Qt3 players on it?Originally Posted by Calistas

I am in a relatively small horde guild on Ardent Dawn a RP server. I don't RP much and most of the other people don't seem to either. cough cough. Anyways the guild is called Trollhaus but is not a strictly troll guild. The guild leader is Zul and my characters name is Arn. Look me up and I will see if I can get you an invite if you are interested.
I'm playing PvP Horde on Dethecus, and PvE Horde on Blackhand if anyone is interested in joining me there:
Dethecus: Soulbinder
Blackhand: Gaian, Hagiok
I'm only level 7 on Dethecus, so anyone who signs up there let me know so we can power through the newbie areas together! :)
Who else is on Proudmoore?
Alliance-side, virtually no one from qt3.Originally Posted by Calistas

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but are the servers for US/NZ/Australia the same? As in, if I log in in New Zealand will I be able to play on the same server as you warmongering Yanks and liberal anal-sex aficionados?
Yes, the kiwi/aus servers are Proudmoore (pve) and blacksomething (pvp)
I play there. Of course, I'm only low level and going to be there for a while.Originally Posted by Calistas
I'm a Tauren Shaman, Calistas. Look me up and i'll flip you some old rubbish :)
My wife and I play on Eomar. Got a couple of 15th level characters. Lots of fun. It's PVE.
I did a search for "eomar" on these boards and found that the only time it has been mentioned has been by you.Originally Posted by wzrd
Why don't you just start a new thread called "My Wife And I Don't Want To Play With You, Bitches!!!" and call it good?
Hey now, when I switched from PvP, no one had any reasonable suggestions. You suggested a server that was at HIGH and we didn't want to play on a packed server.... So I picked us a server and we want to the playing.Originally Posted by jafd
Maybe they'll allow server switching at some point. Or maybe if you play on a server now and don't mind hanging with some n00bs for a bit, we can start more characters...
Whiner!
Proudmoore is usually at Medium. And server population isn't all that relevant anymore, people are pretty spread out. Queues don't happen. Your points? Null! Void!
It's all about Doomhammer Horde now anyway. Get with the program.
Is DoomHammer pvp?
I'm on Eomar too. I have a level 21 Human Rogue and a couple of low-level dudes.Originally Posted by wzrd
Doomhammer is pve. I have forsaken pvp servers utterly, until Blizzard gets their shit together.
So, probably, forever.
Hey, I actually ran an instance with you the other night (Kraul). You know, the one where you were trying to figure out how to brain the rogue that kept rolling on BoP's. (That wasn't me -- that was Deena. I was the AWESOME rogue, while Lesjarvis (was that his name?) was the one that actually killed stuff)Originally Posted by jafd
(btw, jafd is a very good party lead when doing instances -- we made out very, very well on that run loot-wise)
Thanks for the compliment. I try to do my best for everyone.
Incidentally, I've adopted a "Master Looter Always" policy before dropping a named mob, always. It's pointless trying to explain to people what a sensible looting protocol is, because the people who need to have it explained don't fucking listen anyway. Also, people make mistakes. I've done it myself, to my eternal shame.
If everyone could please spam /suggest with "include an option to go to Master Loot on absolutely everything BoP," I think the world would be a better place.
We should hook up sometime. I should probably be higher level, but I keep stopping to mine the mountains. The money is good! :)Originally Posted by steve
I'll create something on Doomhammer... not sure what. Rogue or Hunter...or maybe a Priest. I really want to see what a priest is like long term.
Currently we have priest, hunter, and warrior. Also a rogue but he's level 50 so, not so relevant.
If you were going to do what I want, you'd be a warlock and a mage. But of course you guys are free to be as you like. Priest looks to be super-fun in the long term, which is why I chose it.
Ok, next question... Is the Shaman so similar to the Paladin that I shouldn't bother?
As for a Warlock or a Mage...ugh. Not my thing. My wife loves the Mage she is playing though.
Man, I've had more trouble hooking up with peeps in this game than any other MM game because practically everyone plays on a different server.
I've basically given up with coworkers so to employ the shotgun method, someone please list how many Qt3ers on are on what faction and what server, Ill roll something up there and hopefully meet some people ingame!
Shaman are quite different from Paladins. Paladins are all about being a bloody invulnerable bugger as far as I can tell, whereas Shaman have a bit of eveything goin for them.
- Not bad nukes
- Great area effects (totems) that can slow enemies, help friends, do damage, heal, etc.
- heals
- Utility spells like ghost wolf at 20 (faster travel, thank god).
They have a lot going for them an an 'answer' for most classses in PVP.
They sound pretty interesting...Originally Posted by Calistas
Yeah, as a Paladin, I put on as much armor as I possibly can and go at it.
Yeah, I'm enjoying it, reminds me of the red mage from FFXI.
WOW have done one thing really nicely I think, and that is the hybrids don't feel to useless. The number of tricks in my bag (multiplied with engineering!) mean that I have a lot of options and a selection of ways to tackle an opponent. This is qutie fun :)
One thing is though that I get a bit confused what I am meant to do in a group. I can fight ok, cast ok and heal ok and even do a bit of buffing.. so what to do in a particular situation gets tricky. If I'm fighting (makes xp come faster) then it gets hard for me to heal). If i'm buffing/healing I'm ont contributing that much. If I'm just doing damage casts I can end up too low on armor late in the fight.
Makes for some variety though!
All right, sounds like Doomhammer is the one for now. I'm Houngan, currently lev. 6 Undead Mage. If you see me around, give me a holler.
