(Not) joining Halo 2 clan games

What's the point of being in a clan? Literally every time I try to join a clan game, all of the Qt3 clan members online show as "unjoinable" in some fashion. So far, it is just there to taunt me. Even invites don't work, they just tell me the person is busy and dump me back to the Friends menu. Not even the goddamn Clan menu! Yay, I (heart) more button clicking to get back to where I was!

I inadvertently figured out how to grief, too. Of the five games I've played online, I've had to quit two of them for various family/kid reasons. That automatically ranks me the lowest player in the game, which dropped me a couple of ranks to level one. I had just been holding my own or getting beaten, but the next game after attaining my new low rank, I went 11-1 and had two killing spree medals. It's a double grief: I screw my first team by leaving them shorthanded, then I end up beating on noobs as a reward.

I've been so happy with Halo 2's matching system that I spent last night playing Day of Defeat and the SP campaign.

Anyone can be sent a message at any time. What I usually do is select one of the people that's in the group and send em a voice message asking them to invite me when they're finished with their current game, then set the controller down and get a snack.

On the plus side, if we happen to have a large enough group online that we're playing "arranged" games rather than matchmaker games, you can hop right into the game.

well if you ever see me online just send me an invite to play anything, if i'm not with my clan or with some friends i'll join ya and even if i'm with friends i'll ask you to come join up with me. i do believe your still on my friends list supertanker, if its supertanker then yes you are, and i'm O R A C L E , letters and spaces, so just send me an invite anytime, that goes for anyone

Yeah, just send a message for an invite. Folks are often playing non-clan stuff and can just invite you to the party. We picked up at least five QT3 guys on Thursday night after starting with just myself, Mike and Len. Everyone was kind enough to not do a clan match that night in case my Xbox failed to load a map (which it did, one time).
