    Funky Video Problem

I hope someone has a few suggestions for this. This morning I fired up 'puter #1, and the display was really dark. I played with the monitor and vid card settings just to make it look bright enough to see. I figured either the monitor or the card were about to take the final dirt nap.

Turned on the TV, same deal, very dark. Hmm. Fired up 'puter #2 and I can't even see the what's on the screen well enough to brighten it up.

All of these are on a 20 amp dedicated circuit, split to two strip surge protectors. Been that way for a long time with no probs. No lightning storms the night before or anything out of the ordinary. I didn't have time to plug anything into other outlets, and that's the first thing I'm going to try. But it's freaky because all other TVs are working fine. Oh and the sound works fine on the 'puters and the TV.

If changing the circuit doesn't work, any suggestions of what could have caused this? Bummer, I have a feeling this could get expensive.

    Mike.

Any suggestions of where to start or what caused it?

    Try degaussing both of them.

Thanks shift6, looks like that could be the fix. I did a couple of restarts with an hour of downtime in between. The displays are slowly getting brighter, but I may still have to have them fixed with an external degausser.

And also figure out how the hell it happened.
