That never was answered, I don't think, BTW, is the 38 million for The Sims including expansions or not?

Also, its been confirmed that Kimishine is coming out at the launch of the DS. What's Kimishine? It is short for Kime no Tame Nara Shineru, or "I Would Die For You" Sega's new hot rabu-rabu game about a guy who follows a girl trying to get her to fall in love by using the DS's touch screen. Try "touching" the girl and other places on that website. Its a bit like The Bard's Tale website. Also, try here if you're totally lost: http://ds.ign.com/articles/554/554126p1.html

Challenge one: Through a ridiculous circumstance, you must rescue an assortment of marine animals that have been accidentally swallowed by one of the characters. By using the touch screen of the DS, you must push the fish around the stomach and try to force them up the esophagus before they escape down the "other end." The lower screen shows the quivering stomach, while the upper screen shows the creatures escaping out of the character's mouth when he "gags."
Oh yeah, the poll I can only afford one, since I'm givin' all my love to Dragon Quest VIII soon. Choose for me!

Lastly, No One Lives Forever kicks ass. That is all.

Yeah, even with its broken snap rolls and the lack of a dynamic campaign...

Oh, and you could land the plane upside down.

That is one tough poll. I can't decide. Whichever one you get, I'd appreciate some impressions.

That DS game looks great. US launch title too, apparently. The mini game where you have to blow into the mic to blow out some candles is clearly the work of a crazy genius. That's that, I'm buying a DS.

I can't tell which are the real sales figures. I can't believe anybody would subtitle their game 'Reign of Chaos', so I'm guessing you made that one up.

Well, aside from having 20 games in a top 15, I enjoyed these:

11 PC SAM & MAX: FUCK YOU THIS IS A BLANK DVD $543, 201 20,400
    17 PC MARTHA STEWART'S MONSTER CLOSETS $723,543 19, 400
    20 PC ROME: TOTAL WHORE $800, 450 17,456

Those Doom 3 numbers put things in perspective wrt to PC and Console sales. Fable sold in one week what it took Doom 3 one month to do and I would argue that Doom 3 was the more anticipated game wrt to its prospective platform.

I wonder how many people worked on Fable, and how much all of those TV ads are costing.

Or to put things in another perspective, there's a chance DOOM 3 will make id and Activision more money than Fable will make its developer or publisher.

True true. How many worked on Doom3? Is id still at 16 employees?

The credits at the end of the game go on for a very long time.

Oh, please don't think I'm saying Doom 3 is selling poorly or anything of the sort (ie PC gaming Doomed/Domed/whatever).

I'm just pointing out the gap between sales of hit console games and PC games. After Doom 3 the highest selling PC game sold 20K+ units. A typical month for consoles has several 100k+ sellers.

This clearly doesn't factor in additional advertising, licensing fees, higher budgets, etc that most console games have.

You should buy this one, Kitsune:
SAM & MAX: FUCK YOU THIS IS A BLANK DVD

Or the XBox, whichever one is more readily available. :)

All those 100K+ sellers aren't necessarily "hits" if their budgets are all significantly higher. Profits are way more important than total copies sold. In fact, I wish NPD would change its Top 10 to be listed by revenue instead of sales.

Any word on how pc games are doing over all? I know I read something in April or May that at that point sales were the worse they've been in 10 years and if the trend continued that the genre would be far below a billion this year. However there were few release in the first have as it seems everything is coming out now. Has anyone revised sales forcasts?
