If you have a bluetooth chip in your machine already, get the MS bluetooth mouse. Otherwise, avoid it - the MS bluetooth dongle has an absurdly low sample rate.
If no bluetooth, any variety of the MS wireless desktop is pretty sweet.
Ok, I've decided to look into wireless mice because of a messy cord situation I have. I was always opposed to wireless mice because I'd read that for gaming it could be a problem, but I guess I'm curious to find out if that's still an issue. Anyone got any recommendations?

The logitech laser dealie is getting good word of mouth.
Yes, it looks cool, but it's also quite expensive. Here's Tom's review: http://www6.tomshardware.com/consume...924/index.htmlOriginally Posted by Moore
I've had 2 wireless mice. My next one will have a docking-station and a charger. I can't stand the battery consumption (even the rechargeable battery consumption).
Otherwise, if you get a good sample rate, wireless and optical is the way to go.
Dunno, I just swap out to the buffered recharged ones once a week.
I'd say that really, if you're going to lay out the money for an optical rechargeable mouse... go laser. I've got an MX700 that I'm super happy with, but if I had to replace it, I'd go laser easy. Why? Every now and then it mis-tracks, and with the laser that just doesn't happen because it's looking at a lot more surface detail.
The laser mouse is killer. I've had it running, without recharging, for a couple of weeks. It shuts itself off within seconds once you stop moving; it then turns on again as soon as you move. I've never noticed a lag, though competitive gamers would probably have fits.
Great design, great ergonomics, a charger... big time thumbs up from me.
Yea, I do to. I've got the MS Intellimouse 4 (IIRC), and it's eaten through 2 sets of rechargeables in the last year. That just ticks me off -- as it typically happens when I'm the middle of some serious mousing. Of course, I tend to take my frustration out on the unit, so that can't be good for it, either.Dunno, I just swap out to the buffered recharged ones once a week.
I haven't tried any laser mice, but I love my Logitech MX 700 wireless optical mice. Great feel, weight, performance.
