Tiger 2005 on Live -- still ugh

So here's a new one. On a rare occasion today when I actually manage to get an online game going, my golfer shows up on screen no longer as the slightly overweight white dude with the oakley shades and five o'clock shadow that I've spent many hours creating and building up, but rather as a skinny indian guy in khaki shorts and sandals and a goatee beard.

The game had apparently decided to throw out my old customized character and replace it with one of its choosing. The only way for me to get my guy back was to shut the Xbox down and reboot.

This is a new low. EA Sports, sort it out!

It really makes you wonder why Microsoft killed off their entire sports line to accomodate EA when EA can't take the time to properly create games for the service. Seems to me Microsoft could've bought their way to success in sports eventually and just run EA out of town.

I really don't think having EA on Live has meant that much to the system but I guess we won't really know that for awhile.

In today's session alone I've had innumerable failed games, been booted out of the lobby with a lost connection more times than I care to think about, and had game sessions fire up in which the opposing player has been give my golfer character to play with.

None of these problems occured with Links 2004. That online experience was swift and seamless, every time.

All in all I've wasted about two hours today trying to play Woods on Live and I managed to complete a grand total of three holes.

Let's start a new one: Fuck EA Sports.

I haven't picked up the Xbox version yet, but the PC online play has been fantastic. The interface is way better and I've gotten into games with virtually no hassle.

Yay, I finally managed to play a full round and scored my first online win! Um, except there was an error reporting the scores to the server and so I never got credit for it.

    Annoyed.
