    Wrestling Speeches

I'm curious about those silly speeches pro-wrestlers make all the time. I've tried Google, but my Google-fu is weak. Does anyone know if a site that has some of these, or examples of these, "speeches" transcribed? This is for a book I'm writing.

Does the WWE homepage have any of that archived on video? You could always transcribe it from there. You might be able to find videos on a torrent that you could use...

Now I'm curious what on earth you need this stuff for.

One of the true masters of the wrestling promo is "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, heard here in audio clips from the 70s. This site pairs up clips from opponents in upcoming matches.

And Here's more audio of 70s promos, usually with multiple clips strung together in one file. Be sure to check out Classy Freddie Blassie, one of the most hated men in the history of popular culture.

Perfect! The 70's stuff will do nicely.

TSG, it's for my latest children's novel. It features a misshapen guy who used to be a pro-wrestler. I need his banter for when he starts smacking pirates around.* No, I haven't been published yet, but I'm not going to start sending books to publishers until I've finished my third book. This is #2.

*And no, no ninjas in this book.

Sounds like an interesting premise for a book. The Iron Sheik vs. Captain Kidd in a cage match.

I dunno if he wrote the speeches, but ex Husker Du/Sugar frontman Bob Mould did a stint writiing for the WWF. I believe he did more plotline oriented stuff, but he may be able to help you out. He's fairly approachable online via his blog.
