Installshield crash

Trying to clean some crap of my hard drive and install a new patch or two, but Installshield keeps crashing. The program just hangs at the beginning of an install or uninstall, and can only be terminated with ctrl-alt-del. Then I get a "remote call failure" error message.

Installshield says to update the ikernel when you get that error, but, of course, the ikernel updater crashes, too.

This only seems to be an issue with version 6.31.100.1190. Older games will install fine. For example, Civ III with 6.2 = clean install. Conquests with 6.31 = no install.

Anyone ever experience this sort of thing before?

Did you try cleaning out your temp folders?
