I know it can be quite easy to get entire pirate sites taken down, depending on the hosting ISP. It astounds me that so few devs and publishers make the slightest effort to do so. They probably believe the pirate FUD that the sites are untouchable. they really aren't.
DRM always has a weak point, and so does piracy. To be mass-piracy, any system needs to be inclusive to absolutely anyone, otherwise, the hurdles required to gain access are too high. thus, ANYONE can post torrents on TPB, ANYONE can post links to rapidshare files. ANYONE can start a warez links blog.
Why there are not more fakes is beyond me. Just make it harder to pirate than it is to buy.
