Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't Janice giving Ralphie the "shaft" at one point in the show? That was bad enough but then they were interrupted by a phone call and Janice takes said "shaft" uses it on herself  . I forget the writing credits on this episode but I was wondering if some writers from Oz were doing work for The Sopranos now?

That's not a spoiler, it is a friendly warning! Did HBO really think I needed to have my retinas seared with that image? Gah!

That episode was written by Michael Imperioli, who plays Christopher.

And I didn't pick up that she started using it on herself during the phone call. If you want to get technical (and who doesn't on this particular topic), if it was a strap-on that would take a bit of effort for her to remove it and then use it. But if it wasn't, that seems like a fairly logical thing for her to do while waiting for him to get off the phone. (Hah, "get off". I'm funny.)

A lot of the Sopranos deals with weakness and emasculation, like Tony not wanting anyone to know he was in therapy. Ralphie digging anal sex is probably a foreshadowing of his demise, because "real Italian men" wouldn't be up for that. So it's time for him to take a dive.

And that Janice gets the freak on with all her guys. That scene with the gun and Richie Aprile two seasons ago, woah. That was some freaky shit. The actor in that scene said it seriously disturbed him to shoot it.

Steve may be on to something (on something?)

Season 1 or 2 spoiler.

because look at how Junior "fell" when the love of his life blabbed about his fantastic oral skills. I'm very impressed Imperioli wrote that episode. Tony's speech at the very end was just about perfect. Not too eloquent for his character, yet still very well said.
"Gary Cooper was gay?"
