I only just noticed that The Office has been nominated for best comedy TV show, and without even knowing what else has been nominated in this category, feel confident in saying that it will be a grave miscarriage of justice if it doesn't win. The Office is the KOTOR of comedy, and it deserves major overseas award recognition (it's already won everything there is to win in the UK) more than any other Brit show in recent memory.

Get in there, Gervais, my son!

I can't think of any other comedy that I even watch besides the Office. Are the Simpsons, King of the Hill, and Futurama in this catagory?

I've never even heard of it. What network is it on?

It's on BBC America. You can also get the DVDs, which is probably the easier way to find it if you don't get BBC. It's funny cause the Office is not really sitcom like at all. No punchlines, laughtracks, etc. Half the time you just feel awkward watching it.

Funniest show on TV, easily. Only Curb Your Enthusiasm is in the same league. Whitta is right: either this wins, or there is no justice.

Rent the first season DVD if you don't get BBC America. You won't regret it.

I had not heard of it either, but will check it out. Ahhh..my new TiVo will be getting a rigorous workout before the New Year even begins.

I'll echo Green's sentiments on Curb. I do not laugh out loud at many shows anymore, but that show is the biz-omb....or something. Gotta TiVo that Krazy-Eyes Killa episode. I think there is a marathon of those Jan. 2nd on one of my HBO channels.

Half the time you just feel awkward watching it.

It's amazing how well they do that. Every third scene seems to manage to end up with one or more of the characters looking towards the camera with a painful, embarrassed look. They manage to perfectly pull off the "It hurts because it's true" atmosphere very well.

Still, it's a comedy in the sense that most of our real world jobs are sadly humorous comedy of errors and laughable moments of embarrassment.
