Since this is really the only message board I frequent, I feel compelled to write this...

My time at TechTV/Extended Play has come to a close, so the wife, daughter, and I are packin' it up and moving back to Burlington, VT, my hometown.

I'm getting out of the TV biz and starting a new chapter in my life (I'm going to be a high school teacher), but I'll still be playing lots of games and maybe doing a little freelancing when I get the chance. I understand there's quite a contingent of Qt3ers in VT, so maybe we can start up a Shoot Club chapter.

Well, at least you're originally from here so you won't have the culture shock I did moving from the Bay Area. Welcome back to the land of huge $150,000 houses!

I'm all for setting up a Shoot Club North chapter here. Given the number of "professional" gamers around here, it's really sad how little we all get together. (When I was at CGM the LAN was totally hosed, so we couldn't even play network games after hours in the office. Frustrating.)

Now we just need to get Loyd Case to move out here and bring his "testing lab" so we'll have a place to get together and play. :-)

Ya know, we should keep a list, somewhere, of LAN parties, which nights, and which cities. That way, when we're travelling, and in some city we've never been in before, we'll know whose house to invade on which night for a little BF1942 (or whatever the flavor of the month is).

Will do. I'm actually really looking forward to the move. It'll be nice to settle down somewhere a little more quiet. The nightly police and fire sirens parading by my apartment keep waking my 4 month old daughter.
