Explorer redirects. Minor annoyance.

When I type an incomplete adress in the adress-bar in IE 6.x, it redirects me to some Microsoft search engine. In doing so it also resets my adress-bar to www.msn.searc.blabla instead of keeping my incomplete adress.
I much preferred the older versions way of handling this. There the adress (incomplete) that I had written remained so that I didn't have to retype the whole thing, but only that missing letter or so.

I tried to find a way to configure this, but I couldn't find any. Even though it is a minor issue, this annoys me every time.
Anyone got any ideas, or maybe it is configurable?

I feel slightly stupid for not finding that myself. :oops:
Now I can make all the spelling errors I want without being annoyed by anything but my own inability.
