So, i've been in chat for a number of hours now. People need to get in here. I went so far as to download MIRC again so i could chat properly.

Pretty exciting. Anyway, lets chat!

I think Qt3 chat would be much more successful if we, just every once in a while, scheduled an hour-long chat or something. Maybe even have a special guest now and then.

Yeah, or if there was something to remind people that it existed... like, oh, say, A LINK?????? :-)

I think a regular weekly chat time would be cool. Timing can be a pain with the two coasts, though... 11 pm EDT? Say, Mondays?

OOH! We could have theme chats, like "Talk Like A Pirate Hour", "Let's Pretend We're French", "CAPSLOCK ONLY", "Backwards All-Skate" and "Virtual Ouija Board: Summon Derek Smart". And of course, "Royal Tenenbaums Night" -- I'll even pretend to be Gwyneth Paltrow. Woo yay!

Mark, change the link on the front page that says "Features" to "Chat". Some people here are clicking the link from xaroc's BB post because they don't know how else to get there.

You could also put a link to the chat on the Forum header so we could get to it from here. I have a little board running phpBB2 also and I did this:

edit the file templates/subSilver/overall_header.tpl

go to line 235, which contains the links that are displayed just below the "Quarter To Three Forums" header up there ^.

insert the following text into the line to create a chat link (I would put it first so it appears where the FAQ link is now, top line first from left. The image is the same as the Profile one: http://www.quartertothree.com/phpBB2/templates/subSilver/images/icon_mini_profile.gif:

templates/subSilver/images/icon_mini_profile.gifChat (http://www.quartertothree.com/chat/chat.shtml)

I second that motion. I think some sort of scheduled chat would be pretty cool. Right now, sometimes when I check the channel, there are folks there, and sometimes it's just the tumbleweed... :D

It is 2:45 AM (PST) right now and I can't sleep. I am sitting at the main menu of the forums hitting F5 feverishly, hoping and praying that someone will post something just to give me something to do. Sometimes I'll re-read the whole thread just for a goof.

Wouldn't anybody like to have the chat link up there. It's very sexy. I'll even donate the icon I made. This is what mine looks like:
