Question:
If I go to Amazon through, say, an unnamed person's partner link and then add something to my wishlist, then it sits there for 4 months but I eventually purchase it, does unnamed person get the 2 cents if I don't buy it from his link when I finally buy it?
Also:
Unnamed, I have been sending a LOT of bling bling your way this holiday season. I have made about 15 Amazon purchases this year. I hope you appreciate all I do for you.

DAMMIT! I had an awesome poll and when I edited my post it went away.
ARRRRGH!
wow--really scraping the bottom of the barrel to inflate that post count, eh, spoofychops.
I think you have to use the url then immiediately purchase to give credit to someone else.
heh, I bet those 15 puchases add up to a whopping .75 cents for Bub.

That's what I'm trying to find out about. Inflating my post count is merely a cool side-effect.

Are you from New Jersey or original Jersey balut?
Amazon has zero days return. The purchase must be during the session that the click created for it to count. Same for GoGamer. Which makes them sucky, but what can you do, they still convert.
Ebgames on the other hand never tracks, never converts and can rot in hell.

Thanks Chet!
Well, you will still have at least $0.52 coming your way unnamed because I probably bought about $300 dollars worth of stuff on Amazon this year.
Also:
EB will not let you use the store bought gift card on their website.
Dumb.

Spoofychop, why don't you ask Andrew on the Gamerdad boards? I don't really care, but why not go to the source?

Am I the only one that thinks that sounds like a plug to get people to visit Gamerdad...?

Yes.

Or PM, or E-mail... but I think we all know what Spoof is doing. He's gleaming the cube.
Bub is just an unfortunate pawn.
A pawn in the machinations.
Of the gleaming.

Something got lost in your translation, I think. It just seems a bit odd to ask about it on these forums when Andrew has his own forums and it's an issue with Gamerdad. Does Andrew post more here than there?
What is the argument for posting the question here instead of there? But hey, I'm not trying to get Spoofychop to stop.

Wow. Didn't mean to piss you off Mark.
I was honestly just asking a question about Amazon. It just so happesn that Gamerdad is the only partner site I've ever linked through to buy stuff there so I used it in my question. Does QT3 have an Amazon partner link? If you do I'd probably put two Amazon links up in my favorites and split the time.
As far as pimping for Gamerdad, I hate to have to admit it, but I don't visit GamerDad more than once per month if that. (Sorry Dave, when you were talking about Long Shot at the lan party I just kind of didn't mention that I've only read it once.)
I find Gamerdad to be a little too tame for me. I once posted there and made up a huge bullshit story about something, some unfortunate rube believed me, and then I had to apologize when it turned out that everybody was offended. Yikes.
Also...how close am I to going to wumpusville at this point?

Hey, you didn't offend me. Don't worry. It was just kinda weird in a wouldn't-you-be-more-likely-to-get-an-answer-there way, like asking about an Amazon.com order on a Borders site. It's fine to mention Gamerdad and I'm glad you're steering your Amazon money towards a gaming site instead of a porn site or something like I would have expected from you. Oh wait, I'm getting you mixed up with Tyjenks now. Sorry.

It's funny you mention Amazon in conjunction with porn.
I was surfing for some gifts for my wife in the Apparel section when I came across this item:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000D9ZS0/qid=1071174916/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3_a/102-5663255-9190537?v=glance&n=1036682
Holy NSFW Batman!
Anyway, since you have not updated the front page in a while Entity, I managed to forget that there's an Amazon link (www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/quartertothree-20) at the very top.

Another quesiton:
Here is a link to a book about dress codes that I got after using the QT3 Amazon partner link.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0813367956/qid=1071241118//ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl14/102-5663255-9190537?v=glance&s=books&n=507846
If you guys go and buy this book, does TomMark get any dough? I mean, does this link encode the fact that I got the link through QT3? Maybe I'm just being dense and the previous answer indicates that it's no dice.

For the ten minutes during which this topic is called "Round 5: Dress Code vs. Nipples", I'd like to officially change my vote to 'nipples'. In fact, I'd like to change my vote in every poll we've had so far to 'nipples'. Except for that poll about wumpus, where I'd like my vote to be 'socks'.
Thanks.

Does it matter? Is anyone seriously going to buy a book on dress codes? Seems like a highly abstract hypothetical situation.

Um, you are awake this fine morning right Ben? The dress codes book is the link because of the bruhaha over the hot amazon chick that I posted.
I suppose I could have linked to Bub's Prince of Persia 3D Prima strategy guide through the QT3 link.
Anyway, I hardly think this is some big "abstract" tomfoolery. Aren't you somehwat interested in how the Amazon partner stuff works? You guys are the biggest bunch of noncurious ding-dongs I've ever met.
You would never make it as cats, that's for sure.

Now that would have been funny.
I've been wondering this myself btw. Amazon's Affiliate program is awfully vague and I learned from Spoofy's question earlier that all my Christmas shopping through my own link netted me nothing but what I bought because I didn't do it all in the same session.
So, can you click through an affiliate link, find an item, and then just post the url? Does that work? I mean not just for Dress Code books, for strat books about bad games too?

So where the hell is the 'Nipples' option? In a poll that specifically mentions 'vs. Nipples,' I expect to be able to vote for them. Cathcart has three options, and you even got a self-congratulatory 'vote for me' in there.
You suck at polls, Spoofy.

I believe it is implied with the "I shave them" option.

As they work together, I am fairly certain that this is a coded attempt at flirting between Spoofy and Cathy. I have deciphered a pattern where when you take options 3, 9, and 10, reverse their order, and then make a sentence, Spoofychop is asking Cathcart if he can shave his ding dong.
