LCD Monitors?

So are there any particular brands I should stay away from or that I should look for ? I've been toying with the idea of changing to an LCD display for awhile now, and with the prices finally getting into a range that I'm comfortable with, I'm thinking I'm gonna treat myself come income tax time.

The big question though.....how are LCD displays for gaming? :D
