Please don't ever do that again you friggin idiots.
It's bad enough we have to enter in CD keys and et cetera for games we purchase, now we're forced to enter one for a demo? On top of which, you have to be online and use a separate program, and essentially have to pay for it (through a fileplanet subscription).
And the demo was made available to the "public" three days later.
At least you guys got to keep your intellectual exclusive content. For three days. Nice planning.
You guys really suck.

This is in regards to the Secret Weapons Over Normandy demo by the way, in case someone doesn't get what SWON means in the title.

I have a Fileplanet subscription, but still don't install the demos that require that stupid verification system. If it weren't for the 350KB/second downloads I get, I'd dump them.

350,000 bytes a second? What in god's name are you using for an ISP?

Could be Comcast, they recently started rolling over a new 3mb line program.

Time Warner, who also just upped the download cap to 3MB. I've actually seen as high as 4MB, with two simultaneous downloads running at 330KB and 170KB. They just finished upgrading our area, so all the hardware is shiny and new.

Oh the joys of (mostly) free 10Mbit university connection.

I get 300+ download speeds from FilePlanet too, which is the only reason I keep a subscription. But like y'all say, I don't avail myself of the key-required demos. Don't like messing with that stuff if I don't have to.

File linky: http://www.fileplanet.com/files/130000/133209.shtml
Only 23k downloads for the weekend? That doesn't seem like that much.
Unless that's the link for the non-exclusive demo...

Well, after trying the demo all I can say is blech. No resemblence whatsoever to the "feel" of the classic LucasArts sims of yore (SWOTL, TFH, BH1942). Feels arcadey in a bad way--unlike Crimson Skies, for instance, which was a hoot. Looks are good, though the shiny Hurricanes are a bit much, but the flying and fighting is 100% lame-o in my book. And no I'm not a sim junky or even a real hardcore sim fan at all. The game feels shallow and unengaging from this demo at least.
Too bad. Save my money for, um, something else I guess.

Just finished the demo, and SWON could definitely benefit from a cockpit view. I was also amused to find out that it included a "bullet-time" feature.

Awful.
A question... did anyone else find it amusing that the demo for a 'Secret Weapons' game had you flying a 1930s Hurricane?

Worse yet, the Hurri has a nice glossy metal sheen. Must be that new metallic fabric we've been hearing about.
