Just out of curiosity, which is better if you're running an LCD using DVI (thus negating any RAMDAC advantages the ATI might have?)

It's probably a stupid question, cause I'm pretty sure the GeForce4 is superior. Isn't it?

Depends on the GeForce4. I just wrote up the results of a bunch of different DVI cards:

Of course, it's not an issue unless you use 1600x1200 panels. However, the 4400's performance should be subtantially better than the 8500.
