You probably don’t know what Wizard Wars is. From a picture of the game you can see here (http://www.quartertothree.com/fp/2011/08/22/qt3-podcast-spoofychop-and-wizard-wars/), taken by Keith (aka Spoofychop), it doesn’t look like much. But assuming your concept of computer RPGs predates the latest visual feast, and assuming you remember what it was like being a kid, you will absolutely understand the magic of Wizard Wars. Because — no joke — a bunch of museum curators understood it. Hear the tale and feast on the visuals on this episode of the Quarter to Three Podcast (http://www.quartertothree.com/fp/2011/08/22/qt3-podcast-spoofychop-and-wizard-wars/).

I thought Tom was going to suggest mixing brown sauce in coffee like in Intermission (at least I think that was brown sauce).

Those maps are very, very similar to the ones I made for the first two Might & Magic games. M&M gave you a pad of specialized pages to aid in mapping. Like this, it was all on a 15x15 grid. I'm guessing M&M 1 had about 100 15x15 square areas that made up the entire world, landscape, cities, and dungeons.
Great podcast, guys. Tom is a master interviewer and Keith is a great guest.

I want to know more about Walk It Out! Is walking in place in front of your Wii better or worse or the same as walking around your neighborhood? A while back I was thinking about trying to take regular walks for exercise and I got a bunch of conflicting information about walking. Some people said walking on pavement is bad for your knees and that walking on a soccer field at the local park is is better, others said the soccer field is worse. One friend told me the grass was only OK if I bought those goofy shoes that look like foot gloves. Other people told me I should only ever walk on an indoor track. I guess maybe get a Segway for when I go to the fridge and stuff.
Will Walk It Out! solve all of my walking questions or make them worse? Did Keith draw maps for Walk It Out!? What level is Dave Perkins in it? Why wasn't more of the show about walking it out*?

Walk it out is bad for your knees and bad for your ego (you feel like a tool while doing it) but great for losing weight :D

Walking is bad for you knees on pavement? I've heard running can be due to the high impact nature of it, but I don't think walking is... sounds like a made up excuse so you don't have to get off your duff=)

Enjoyable podcast, as always. Both host and guest were in fine form.
I guess I should out myself as someone else who owns a copy of Walk It Out... my wife bought it, I swear. Frankly I should play it more often. With a desk job (working at home no less) and a desk/couch hobby, my ass be sedentary.
Oh, and given the fact that we've been seeing 3-digit high temps for what seems like weeks in my neck of the woods, marching in front of your TV in the air conditioning totally beats taking a walk around the block.

Another great QT3 podcast. I love these. For those interested in Wizard Wars, and other rpgs, you might want to check out The CRPG Addict. His goal is to play through every rpg released for PC. He has rules, he has to play each game for at least 6 hours, though he seems to complete quite a few. And he is always updating his list. Anyway, he is up to 1988, and currently playing Ultima V. He has been pretty busy lately and hasn't been updating as frequently as in the past, but he is 3 games away from Wizard Wars. So it you want to read opinions on a modern play through of this game, you should check it out.
