As a Pocket PC user, I feel like I'm more or less forced in continuing to use Outlook. People who don't understand why anyone continues to use Microsoft's awful email client are generally the ones who don't have to deal with the way all Pocket PC data only syncronizes with it.

Recently, I've been fooling around with Bloomba (www.bloomba.com), which has some really astounding search functionalities and is, all around, just a much nicer email client than Outlook. But it got me to thinking about email clients.

Does anyone know if there are any email clients that can handle all Outlook data, including appointments, notes, etc? Also, I was wondering if there were any email clients that supported user-written plugin to add certain functionality to them. I'm a sucker for software like Mozilla Firebird, Objectdock and QCD where you can customize the functionality of the program to a huge extent. Any recommendations?

Thought I would revive this topic since I was just bitching about the Pocket PC problem on Tom's thread. Anyone? If I want to sync with my PPC but change my email client, is the only solution to use both Outlook and the new client?

I'm not aware of any Crypt, unfortunately.

I'm aware of one Dr Crypt who posts here, but that's about it.

I think Ximian Evolution (with the Exchange connector) will do most of it. But it's a Linux/Unix product. ;-)

Thank God linux is a practical, useable, and convenient* desktop platform!

I use it all the time (my laptop runs Linux). It's pretty convenient if you're not clueless. The only reason I run Windows is that's where the games are... should my sorts of games ever migrate to the console, I'll drop Windows for sure.
