Just did a fresh install of Win7 after every last thing got hosed by an SSD failure followed by computer sudden inability to restore from a system image that had worked a week before. Two dead hard drives in one week? A computer that loathes my very existence? Chicken is a boring but delicious meat? Who knows!

Anyways, now that I'm back up and running about as well as can be expected, I find that the text in my WMC keeps shifting between fuzzy and normal, almost like the entire window is getting smeared with water and then wiped clean, over and over again. Got the latest ATI drivers for my brand new HD6870 (okay, it's from Christmas), it's an almost-virgin Windows install. . . I haven't even setup Cleartype, if that's still a thing.

Any ideas?

That looks fine to me. Maybe you're having a stroke?

Is that supposed to be a joke? As for the sample image, I've never seen anything like that. Check all your cables? You're using a DVI/HDMI connection, right?

There are no jokes in Hardware and Tech. It's all humorless monitor drilling.

Did you mess around with the 3d settings in your video card driver config, like say perhaps forcing AF on?

Right, that's an excellent point -- did you turn on "Morphological Filtering" in the Catalyst driver? That feature slaps a blur filter across the entire Direct3D surface, including text. You should keep it off unless you're running a game that support no other form of anti-aliasing.

Damn you Morphological Filtering! That was it exactly. Thanks chequers/Chris!

I had the same problem and turned off Morphological Filtering it know works great . I was having the same problem with Icons on Itunes . and I realize now that it was also making Thunderbird's interface look horrible Thanks
