Maybe I missed this embedded in another thread, but looks like this hasn't been talked about around here -- Bioware has announced ME2 is headed to PS3 in January 2011 (http://masseffect.bioware.com/). Those of you who don't have a 360 or played these on PC are in for some good gaming, this really is one of my favorite games of this generation. Unfortunate that they don't seem to be bringing over the first Mass Effect, but I think it's pretty easy to jump into the action.
As a side note, I'll never understand those who get genuinely angry at exclusives jumping platforms, whether it's FFXIII going to Xbox or ME2 going to PS3. More people playing games seems like a good thing to me.

I've started getting angry at exclusives jumping platforms but only because I own both.
Count me in the ME1 > ME2 camp too, so PS3-only owners are missing out on one of the better video game sci-fi stories.
This news really could not be worse for me.

The first ME was published by MS. ME2 was published by EA. Big reason why no ME1 for PS3.

Understood, Woolen Horde. Still kind of a bummer.

I can understand the anger when super late PS3 ports add exclusive bonus content so they can be marketed as the "definitive" versions, like Ninja Gaiden 2. Not that this has to be the case here, it'll likely just be the DLC available on other platforms.
Man, now I'm a little torn between jumping ship for ME3 or sticking to the PC save that I've been nurturing since the first game.
Edit: Also, "perfect entry point to the franchise"? ME2? Really?

This used to bother me, then Demon's Souls came out.

I'm curious as to how it'll deal with all the decision-making from the first game, particularly if we assume that ME3 will also get a PS3 release. It won't matter to all that many people, certainly, as a lot of the decisions are tiny things that only really generate cameos in ME2, but I loved that the game actually noticed tiny things I'd done, and bits and pieces like the romances from the first (which can supposedly be continued in the third) could end up simply being locked out from a potential PS3 sequel.
The claims that ME3 is going to have wildly diverging endings based on your actions throughout the entire trilogy make me wonder, too.
Perhaps the ability to import completed saves from the PC version of ME1?

"ME2 is coming out for the PS3, and you've got a week to live."
Perspective.
