Lots of games going gold. It's not even the end of a fiscal quarter, is it? What gives? Something in the water?

- Temple of Elemental Evil
- Freedom Fighters
- Age of Mythology Titans
- C&C Generals Zero Hour
- Halo for the PC (according to strong hints from Gearbox)
- UFO Aftermath
- Warrior Kings Battles

Add to this list the games reaching the store shelves this week:

- Savage
- Lost Dungeons of Norrath
- Bloodrayne

I think a few of those games should have been released last month. About half of them I am interested in, but now that they're releasing within a two week period, I'll probably pass on them. Screw them for bad release schedules!

Well, it actually is very close to the end of the fiscal quarter (September 30).

This is the "pre-Christmas" wave of titles. Next month will be all the gold announcements for all the Christmas (Thanksgiving) titles, plus all the delay announcements for things that won't ship for the holidays.

Gold Rush was a pretty fun game. It was educational, and yet, was one of the most advanced Sierra games I've seen that still used the text parser.

Hey, tack Homeworld 2 onto that list. As of now, HW2 and ToEE are scheduled to go into stores on the same day, next Tuesday. :)

- C&C Generals Zero Hour

Since Qt3's last 60 sec. review was Generals, maybe the triumphant return of content can coincide with the release of the expansion. And that juicy E3 2003 dirt that you have been saving up, too, of course.

And isn't the PC version of Knights of the Old Republic supposed to be out on the 18th?

Whoops, you're right. My bad. A friend said he was expecting it any day and I thought that sounded weird -- then I misread the release date. Apologies.

Temple of Elemental Evil is at the top of my list of these games, followed by Halo for the PC. Everything else looks good but I feel no compulsion to get right away.

I'm with you. TOEE looks great and Halo PC might be a pickup depending on how the multiplayer is (already finished it 2x on the Xbox).

Temple is at the top of my list now. Halo PC less so, since I've already played the Xbox version.
