The AAA is being sued (www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/news/archive/2003/09/08/national1438EDT0623.DTL) over the death of a motorist who failed to get timely help.
After reading the article, it seems to me that there is a pervasive American mentality requiring lawsuits to be filed for even the slightest of causes. It's really sad that this young woman ended up a murder victim. But I don't see that the lawsuit makes sense.

It makes sense from the purely mercenary perspective that AAA will probably pay money to settle the claim and get a confidentiality agreement.

Yeh, please don't, we nearly had that trouble on some other forums once.. some little crybaby decided that if ten or so people were not banned by telstra (off some forums.. ) because they called him nasty things (like fucktard) he would sue telstra for emotional distress. The people in quesiton laughed at him and told him to fuck off... and called him a "fag" (oh no!) .. so he decided to also add "slander" to the lawsuit... in which case a mod of the forums told him to shut the fuck up and stop whining. A week later he said he wasn't going to bother about it because he was tired of all the shit. (..and because he was scarred of the big bad annonymous people most likely)
Anyways... sueing people for dumb things like that is just that.. dumb.... I should be made a judge and save people a whole lot of money.
"He called me a moron, I want a million dollars"
"get fuck out of my court room you moron"
"I'll sue you for that!"
"I hearby sentence you to death mother fucker!"
"Nooo, mommy!"
"BWHAHAHA!!" ::pulls out BFG10000 from thin air!:: ::BOOOOOM!!::
... ahh. .that would rock.

Well, the stunt worked. That is exactly what happened (www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2003/09/11/family_settles_suit_against_aaa_driver/).
