So I'm playing House of the Dead: Overkill today and getting kind of frustrated by not having a sure shot. Sure, you can still play it but as the game goes on precise, quick aim becomes more and more important. I was following the aiming cursor and the delay makes it pretty hard to shoot accurately.
My solution? A quick, jury rigged compromise. Behold the Ghetto Sureshot!
You take one crappy airsoft gun and tape your controller to it. Works great so far!

Edit: actually on the left hand side it's accurate, but on the right it's too far right. Is this common when calibrating?

Airsoft guns are not toys. Next thing you know some guy is going to try to one-up you by taping a Wii-mote to his .45. You've started a dangerous trend, children could be hurt from your lack of foresight.

Doesn't this make it hard to play Wario Ware Smooth Moves without someone getting shot?

Shouldn't be better to attach the wiimote on the top of the gun, along the barrel? A bit more of ergonomic design, please!

You know, I've seen the Nyko pistol available for prices as low as 6$.

Yeah, they're 9 bucks at Amazon. Considering Overkill is 20, you can get 2 pistols and the game for less than a regular game.

That Airsoft gun is illegal, the tip of the barrel is supposed to be orange.

How are you pulling the trigger?

Ah, see that's why it's not mounted on the rail. I thought of that.
You pull the trigger by just pulling the Wii trigger. It's on the side.
Yeah, I spraypaint all of my airsoft toys because I like them that way. Then they never leave my house again. If I was into the outdoor airsoft thing I wouldn't paint them . . . but then again I have no interest in that, so there you go. Mostly they are wall hangers and basement plinkers.
Anyway, the aim on the left hand side of the screen is great, but on the right hand side it goes way too far right. Is this common in this game?

No, but part of your gun barrel is blocking the 'FOV' of the IR sensor. Think of it as a flashlight beam, you are missing part of the beam. Move the wiimote up past the end of the gun barrel.

Damn I thought it was a straight line. Will do!
Edit: fixed! It's more comfortable to hold now too.
