This is one of my favorites on the list, although Steve Wozniak's card is also pretty cool without being too complex.

Cute, but a lot of those are slightly less useful than printing your name and address on a ballpoint pen.

The divorce lawyer one is brilliant.

True, especially considering how horrendously expensive these cards would likely cost to print in bulk, but they're still quite cool.

I like the post-marriage counsellor, which is kind of the opposite of the divorce lawyer's concept.
This one, however...

...makes me want to find Lettau him or herself and give them a solid smack.

Don't let that be your apprehension. Don't let not having the tools be your trepidation.

This is the most impressive business card I've ever seen. It's mine. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YBxeDN4tbk)

me as well. That guy is kind of a dick, but he makes some valid points.
For the business that he is in... he has the right card.

Yeah the rest of that guys videos are hilarious too. His business card is the example of uselessness that a lot of these other showy cards exhibit. It less a creative list than garish list, but a few of them really are excellent. The Laser Printing one that looks like a Google search is what I think is a good example of being simple and practical but creative. All the cards made too big or out of odd materials are worthless because you won't keep them around. Most of the design studio cards were bad, but honestly that Lettau card wasn't so much. It's obnoxious, but it's still practical and I can't look away. Just what I'd want in advertising. Much better than this boring one:

I'd say this one is my favorite:

The tooth one creeps me out. I would tell everyone I know to boycot the dentist so he will go out of business and I won't see his cards ever again. I feel that is the most practical solution to my problem.

Fuck that. Once your business card doesn't fit in a wallet anymore, make a brochure.

His whole point was to make a business card that you can't stow away.. That it is unique and you show it off to other people. Look at this pop-up business card, etc... Really smart way to spread the word around. That is what 99% of these 100 cool business cards are trying to do. Garner attention.

No brochures are for garnering attention. Business cards are for summarizing what you need to know about your business into something easy to carry around.

That "boring" card is classy, elegant and gracefully post-modern. The simplicity of the card has a certain brashness to it -- the absence of information is a subtle declaration that anyone who is anyone would obviously already know this company's contact info.
Most importantly, this is also obviously the card of someone too busy for ridiculous frippery -- unlike the garish abominations that surround it.

Christ almighty.
Dude. Dude. Pre-emptive intervention: DO NOT send that guy any money. He's clearly a "motivational speaker"/scam artist. He can't teach you the seven secrets to his success, because six of them involve tricking people into thinking he knows what he's talking about and giving him money. He probably drives a leased Ferrari. He probably goes to Tan-O-Rama. This is not a dude you want to be taking any sort of life advice from.
A pop-up business card? Seriously? SERIOUSLY?

Really?
cmon.. I mean this is the internet and all, but do you think anyone would be that stupid?
But fuck is he good at what he does, even if it is being a professional seller of B.S.

I'd like to think not, but you posted three times in five hours about his impressive, "being a douche makes you more effective" lifestyle stance. :)
But fuck is he good at what he does, even if it is being a professional seller of B.S.I just disagree. There's an entire industry built around loudmouth idiots who yell enough to convince people through sheer force of volume that they know what they're talking about. They are almost universally hacks, charlatans, and snake oil salesmen. This d-bag is just an apolitical version of an AM radio hack. And he's laughably bad. That video was just awful.

One thing about these cards that I noticed is a lot are for design-type firms (artists, architects, designers). In that industry, for those people, having a "creative" card might be more important than having information, because the business card is essentially a tiny work sample. If you can show off how classy and modern your design sensibilities are on the card, you don't really need a brochure.

I think you are tainted by your dislike for the guy. I am sure he is a hack and a douche..
but he is one of the best hacks and or douches. And a business card like that is perfect for being the best hack and or douche.
