I just came across this weird little indie game that's still in alpha stage. Basically, it's a first-person game where you leap off of a high place and try and hug large structures for points. I think it really pulls off the feelings of vertigo and acceleration well. I'm not quite through all the available levels yet, but so far so good.
I'm bad at explaining it, so here are a couple of videos:
Video Uno (http://vimeo.com/4094554)
Video Dos (http://vimeo.com/3930996)
And a place to download and try it out: http://www.dejobaan.com/aaaaa/
Note - I'm in no way associated with the makers of this. Just thought it was cool and reposted the videos and such from another site.
Just the name alone makes me want to get it. Looks promising as long as they don't mess up on the price point.

that does look kind of neat.
would be nice if they could get it into trackmania levels of crazy though

It's certainly Google-resistant.
As for the video, the whole thing looks so Tron-abstract it doesn't evoke falling off a building at all for me. Looks more like a first-person crasher.
And... "Hugs" and "Kisses"? Blargh, no thanks.

Looks pretty cool, but as mentioned, the name is not very great when it comes to discussing or searching for the game :O This game makes me think that a base-jumping game would be really cool, or some sort of gliding/parachuting game. Realism is what would make it for me though. This game doesn't make me feel like I am falling much because of the Tron aspect. Add some clouds and real buildings and I might pee my pants with joy (or fear).

I was going to mention that as well.
Without a miniature world at the bottom it doesn't give me the impression I'm hurtling from a tall building.
This is what it should have looked like (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pGp1LX8yZY#t=4m33s)

Nobody liked it then.

The name's awesome, but the point for me is jumping off very tall things, not futzing about with point multipliers and target zones and such, so the game itself rather misses the point as far as I am concerned.

How do you turn that into a game? Do you do it like Pain and try to get as hurt as possible or something? I thought the points and targets were pretty good as they didn't get in the way of you falling, they were just something to do on the way down.

You could do a sort of simulation of actual BASE jumping. I know there's at least one game out there that tries that.
Beyond that, meh. Maybe just jumping off tall things wouldn't make much of a game and I'm better off sticking to leaps off the Agency tower in Crackdown and off of various things in WoW, etc. But it's still not an itch scratched by this.

Base jumping alone maybe not, but you could do something like these guys...

I see the game in the same category as World of Goo. A great game for a short timespan of diversion. It won't hold my interest for more than a week or two, or as soon as I complete all levels. Whichever is first. :)
