View Full Version : China not ready to lead.

I agree with the guy at the Beijing Institute of Technology at the bottom of the article. Even if China did try to lead at this point, with it's Authoritarian government, none of the 1st world nations would follow. Only the 3rd world ones.

The latest salvo on the nationalism debate was fired by a group of scholars who argue in a best-selling new book that the current financial crisis is proof of the corruption of the world capitalist system led by the United States – and that it’s time for China to take the lead.
Uhhh....
Chinese scholars are calling out other countries for corruption? Really? Wow.
To be fair, China is really, really good at state corruption, so they are qualified to judge the corruption of others.

Argentina to use yuan in trade with China (http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/business/21928-argentina-to-use-yuan-in-trade-with-china-)

No. Pretty much all of their currency has Chairman Mao on it. Like every bill and every coin. That bill would be a great way to encourage foreign investment in their currency though.
EDIT: Okay not the coins. I had to dig through some in my travel stuff to find them. Still though, if it's important to China, Mao is on it.

North Korea still does (they inherited the system from China). There's a writeup of how it works here: http://www.tomcoyner.com/north_korean_won_stretches_defin.htm

What are you taking about? China is ready to lead like nobody's business! They will lead you for next to nothing and make your family pay for the bullet.
Wait, wat?
