I'm looking for some images to act as a screensaver. The problem is, I can't find lots of them at once. I could put in the effort to GIS something then go the the source, Save As ... ad infinitum but I'd rather do it in one shot. Google and Pirate Bay have failed me.
Any ideas? One idea I had was to get some of the more interesting images from the LIFE photography that was released into public domain last year. But I can't find collecctions!
I just want to download a big file and put it in one directory. Has anyone done this?

People put up packages like that on emule or as torrents. Linky (http://torrentz.com/search?q=wallpapers). Disclaimer: please ignore any links above the banner ad.

www.photoree.com
You'll still have to save as, but 99% of the images there are great and if you sign up and rate about 100 photos it will begin turning up stuff you'll like most of the time.
Most of these are nature, art or models and not that many great portraits. For historical photos like those LIFE shots I think you'll have a hard time finding them online, collected and in a good resolution, since they're most likely managed by CORBIS or some other entity supposed to make money from the copyright.
The UK Science Museum (http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/) has some great online galleries... but in web resolution (high res is an option in the museums side business in selling science related photos for publications)

webshots.com works great as a screensaver.
