I love kicking back with some Uno on XBox Live but it just pissed me off. I bought the Street Fighter 2 card pack and I love how it looks and sounds - but I can't use it in ranked matches? WTF?

Does the game bar you from using custom card graphics in ranked matches? If so ... WHY?! It imparts no advantage whatsoever. What's the problem here?

The custom decks often make minor rule changes, and ranked matches are probably limited to basic rules only. (There's apparently a new Hadouken card in the SF2 deck.)

So the Street Fighter 2 card pack doesn't have special cards that change the rules from normal Uno?

I know that for the 35th anniversary card pack, they have the special 3/5 cards, where you have to play either a 3 or a 5 on that card. And the Kameo cards also had special cards and rules that went along with them. I remember the Kameo card rules being my favorite in the game, though I can't remember what the rule changes were anymore.

So I wouldn't be surprised if the Street Fighter 2 card pack also came with some special cards with special rules. Maybe that's why they're not allowed in ranked matches.

Aww fuck, really? I hadn't noticed the special cards. Ok, that would explain it.

Still, it would be nice to use the overall theme and new card graphics but just remove the custom stuff.

You know, I could be in for some Uno. I miss the old "wind down from Gears" games a bunch of used to do.

Yeah, that was fun. We'd play something intense all night and then people would drop out before bed and wind down with something simple like Uno.

I enjoy playing with the SF2 deck. Makes the sounds like you're playing the fighting game the whole time. kinda cool.

The special Kameo card is great, it lets you trade your hand with another player.

I would love to play some Uno! I just got a 360 and it came with that!

But it's just a trial version, isn't it?

I know when I'm playing a card game, the graphics on the card are the most important part of the experience.

Yeah, they really shit the shirt on that one... Would be nice to be able to choose "keep the graphics / sound upgrades but play by normal rules" and play ranked.

/Did I use that correctly EpicBoy? =)

No, I got an arcade, and it came on the disk.

Uno is still a massive time suck if I go near it. Which I rarely do anymore. Which I might have to change.

It's not the most important part but it WOULD be nice to have a little visual variety when playing ranked games. I'm bored of the spiral blue background and the standard deck graphics. The Street Fighter deck looks cool and offers a new background. I want.
