Employee takes bubble bath in the sink of a Burger King (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niJoEpQmr6I). Health department notices (http://www.wdtn.com/global/story.asp?s=8825514). Action news investigates (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSMm75T57PU).

Yeah, but they're usually rather minor in nature. This one was a whopper.

Looks like there was plenty of soap.

Perhaps they'll learn not to hire people named Mr. Unstable.

I just had an awesome idea for a fun new scenario for Sneak King 2!

It's funny how worked up people get over stuff like that. Not that it was appropriate, and those people involved deserved to be fired, but it was a sink and what are the odds that someone would get sick from it? Pretty damn small, and I say that as someone who has gone through food safety programs several times. People avoiding the restaurant in the future because of this are just being anal.

Anybody who has ever worked in a food preparation job knows the reality of those places.

Yes.

Nudity in the kitchen.

People get worked up over the silliest of things.

Bored kids + deep fryer = hours of entertainment.

Bored kids + deep fryer + persistent roach problem = hours of revolting, cruel entertainment.

Fixed.

So how many people do much of any cleanup after having sex in their kitchens? And that's theoretically riskier than what happened in this case. What exactly even theoretically could have transferred from this guy into food that posed any risk at all?

This is more about a perception of uncleanliness than the reality of it. You are far more at risk of sickness from cross contamination of foods, bacteria growth, and ill employees than you are from a guy taking a bubble bath in a kitchen sink.

Tell you what, guy. You PM me your address and I'll send you a bunch of cookies. I swear to god, I won't do anything unhealthy to them. I'll just do some stuff that's unclean. You get 'em, eat 'em and tell us how good they are and then I'll tell YOU just how many pounds of pubic hair you ate.

True story...

Buddy of mine used to work at McD. He was sorta a freaky dude, but he really blew my mind when he confessed to me one day that he'd been having fantasies about the pickle slicer at work. "Dude" he'd say, "I just have this overwhelming urge to stuff my junk in the pickle slicer."

Well, I didn't think much more about it until one day he came over when he should have been working. He says "Yeah, they fired me. Caught me pounding on the pickle slicer in the back room."

So I asked, well, what did they do with the pickle slicer?

"Yeah man, they fired her too."

Would that be gross? Sure. Would it make a person sick? Nope.

And that has nothing to to do with the situation we're talking about. Even if there were pubic hairs left in the sink after they, you know, drained the bubbly water, how do they get on food? The sink might be used for food rinsing or something, but that doesn't lead to anything getting on them. Plus, they presumably have to sanitize stuff in that sink at least once a day or so, if not more often.

I'm sure the folks involved are deeply concerned over the loss of their crumby minimum-wage jobs.

While I agree they probably nuked the site with disinfectant and it's cleaner than it's been since it opened probably, you have to understand why people get worked up. Hepatitis could easily be spread via something like this. Also, I wouldn't give a damn eating there personally under the assumption they did indeed clean.

Clipped from wiki because I'm too lazy to WebMD it:
The virus spreads by the fecal-oral route (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fecal-oral_route) and infections often occur in conditions of poor sanitation and overcrowding. The virus is resistant to detergent (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detergent), acid (pH 1), solvents (e.g., ether (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ether), chloroform (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chloroform)), drying, and temperatures up to 60oC. It can survive for months in fresh and salt water. Common-source (e.g., water, restaurant) outbreaks are typical.

You know those "By law all employees must wash their hands after any bathroom break," signs? Hep A is one of the reasons why.

Sure, and that's why they sanitize. Again, I've gone through health department food safety classes a number of times and sanitization procedures are in place for that reason. Hence Burger King's annoucement that the sink in question had been sanitized twice and the utensils thrown away (which wasn't necessary but probably was done for PR reasons.)

Again, my point is that people get all worked up over something like this when there are far more likely ways a person would get sick from eating at a restaurant than a guy taking a bath in the kitchen sink.

I would eat there. However, surely you can see why people get worked up over something like that getting out? Be honest Sarkus, you weren't the guy taking a bath were you? :)

Just how many things has something like this happened with nobody saying a word or filming it? This is a little too sick to think about.
