Yeah, that thing is cool. I wonder how many of those Warren has in his GoW shrine?

I went ahead and ordered one; I'm going to see if I can't convert it to fire Nerf darts....

Oooh! Oooh! Gun grammar nazi alert!
The list of features has "removeable clip," when I'm sure they meant magazine. Though I haven't played the game more than a few minutes, so maybe the Lancer uses WW2 tech.
I know no one cares, but hearing that makes me twitch and think .50 Cent is going to empty a clip from his Lancer gat into me.

Hey, that was pretty interesting. I, too, had always thought that clip = magazine.

At this point it's too late and it's just slang. Only gun nerds really care. But it is much safer to say magazine unless you're talking about a WW2 game, when things get confusing.
About the only time you'll see a clip in real life is people shooting M1s, which a lot of enthusiasts still do thanks to the CMP. The sound of it ejecting usually puts a smile on the face of young people that have played Medal of Honor or have seen Saving Private Ryan. Or anyone, really. It's pretty goofy and surprising.
Anyway, that's a pretty cool replica gun. I see they went with a cool-looking chainsaw that doesn't move. I think I would've rather them make a real chainsaw mechanic and just put some Fischer-Price nubs on it to prevent anyone from getting hurt. That way the Internet kids could modify it to be at least a little more fun. :)

When I was a kid and used to play in the woods, I sometimes found clips. I remember they had one c-shaped thing one one side and two on the other side.
US and German tank troops used to do maneuvers near my home.

So this is just a new way of marketing the superultimate collector's edition that Halo 3 and Fallout 3 got/are getting, yes?

Pretty obviously, yes. Did you expect a real gun?

I wouldn't put it past someone to partner up with a gun manufacturer and offer a real life version of one of the series' trademark guns one of these days. Obviously not a needed marketing device with a largely successful game like Gears was, but I won't be surprised when it happens.

If someone actually makes a firing Lancer with chainsaw guard, I would (sadly) own one.

I talked to the artist who modeled the Lancer today and he tells me that the lancer Amazon is offering is a perfect replica. It's based off of his high-poly model and he says it's accurate down to the smallest details. Obviously he'd be happier if the chainsaw actually worked but his opinion is that it's awesome nonetheless.
Wow, that is the #1 best seller right now in the video games category. The actual game is #2.

My wife has a serious problem with toy guns, I'd almost buy this just to watch her head asplode when I gave it to my 6 year old to open up.

Too bad my nephew is too young for toy guns (he's only 3) I'd totally get him one, that thing is way more bad ass than anything I had as a kid.
