If there were good new PC games, we wouldn't need such threads.

No good, new PC games? But I thought PC gaming was awesome ... ?

Considering that perfection was achieved with Gobliins 2, the existence of the industry is pointless.

Oops. I meant there were no good PC games coming out this summer, not no good ones in recent years or something.

As far as I can see, PC gaming is the best. I don't game on my computer much, but I can see that with appropriate hardware you would have access to the majority of current console gaming at the best visual quality with the frequently superior mouse/keyboard controls, have access to a larger current library of games (such as indie games), and have access to a massive backlog of extremely good PC titles.
It doesn't lend it self to local multiplayer though, which is a big minus, and it's really expensive in parts I find.

No shit! This is absolutely true. I get so sick of the "we'll release it in fourth quarter" strategy of new gaming title releases.

Muahaha. I think everyone's just getting sick of the lack of quality releases throughout the year, as alluded to above.

Ah, summertime, when the old game threads come into full bloom while we wait for the seeds sown at E3 to take root and blossom over the Christmas season. It's the cycle of the industry.

Personally, I think that while there are new good games, the golden age of PC gaming -- in which the best games EVAR were made -- is between 1992 and 2000-2001, so I think these are tapping into missing those games and the creativity that flowed at the time.
